Angel’s Kiss is a Sexy Paranormal Mystery that’s “a little supernatural, a little Sam Spade & a little Stephanie Plum wrapped into one”. Read on to hear a learn a little about Angel’s Kiss’s main character and the author Lynne Stevie.
Interviewer: Hello Mrs. Hayes Lewis, thank you for taking time out of your day to be interviewed.
Alexandria: Just Lexie, please. And no problem.
Interviewer: Lexie, tell our readers a bit about yourself.
Alexandria: Well, you already know my name. I was born here in Seravan. I married my college sweet heart Alan, who’s a freelance writer, and we live in the home I grew up in. How do you like our little slice of beachy heaven?
Interviewer: Its perfect here, what’s not to love? Beautiful white sand beaches and crystal clear water.
Alexandria: I know it’s great. A little crowded in the summer, but worth it for times like today when the sun is shining and most of the tourists are gone.
Interviewer: What do you do for a living?
Alexandria: My family started a detective agency Hayes & Hayes Investigations. My mother’s been gone since I was a child, so I worked with my father until he passed away and now I run it.
Interviewer: Oh, that sounds like fun. What kind of cases do you get?
Alexandria: Mostly domestic stuff. A husband or wife is cheating and the other wants proof, or a teenager has run off and we track them down. Maybe insurance fraud, stuff like that. Although, my life has gotten much more complicated lately. We had a murder case that I was involved in. I’m not at liberty to give you any of the specific. But, let me just say it was bizarre and gory.
Interviewer: I just saw you shiver as you said bizarre. Was it that strange?
Alexandria: You know the saying “truth is stranger than fiction”.
Alexandria: Well it’s true, no one could make that shit up. If you really want to know read Lynne Stevie’s book, Angel’s Kiss, it’s all in there. That’s all I’m saying. Next question.
Interviewer: Okay. How would your father describe the woman you’ve become?
Alexandria: Wow. Umm…I hope he’d be proud of the way I’ve handled myself.
Interviewer: You just got choked up, do you still miss him.
Alexandria: Yes, he was a wonderful father and friend. I still think of him and his words still help me get through tough situations. He was so strong and he’s still my hero.
Interviewer: Do you have any siblings or family still in town?
Alexandria: Yeah, my brother Dennis is here in town. He’s a contractor and great guy. And my grandmother lives just outside of town.
interviewer: What would be a perfect day for you? Would it include shopping or a spa trip, mountain climbing, or reading a good book?
Alexandria: I’m really not much of a shopper. Perfect day huh…I think it would start with a run at the beach, maybe some stand up paddle boarding on the bay, a guilt free nap after a little wrestling under the covers with my main squeeze, and then out for drinks and dinner along the harbor with friends and family. I’d end the night by reading a great book.
Interviewer: Sounds great. So I know you said no more questions about the murder, but did you find the killer.
Alexandria: Oh, I knew you wouldn’t let it go. No, we haven’t. And there are other unnatural mysteries surrounding the deaths that I hope to one day be able to figure out. I think Lynne is planning to write another book about my family, so maybe she’ll shed some light on the murderer too.
Interview with Lynne Stevie:
I was raised on a small farm in the Midwest, at a time when there were only 3 television stations. Oh the horror!
Growing up miles away from any other families gave me the opportunity to hone my imagination and plenty of time to read. To say that I had an active imagination is a huge understatement and I have always had a fascination for magic, fantasy and the paranormal.
After earning a bachelor degree in Criminology I married my college sweetheart and traded farm country for the sugar white beaches of the Florida Panhandle. Now I spend my time writing and taking care of my three children, two dogs, one guinea pig and my terrific husband.
Lynne: Hi Everyone!
Interviewer: Welcome Lynne. We know that you have your first novel Angel’s Kiss available now. What inspired you to write it?
Lynne: Well, actually, I um had a very sexy dream one night and that started the whole process. I’d never written anything before, but I just felt compelled to write this book.
Interviewer: I’m intrigued. Can you give us a little sample of this dream?
Lynne: Of course, it’s still one of my favorite scenes in the book. I’ll be sure to post an excerpt here for everyone to get a little taste of one of my favorite characters, the sexy Immortal Ellasar and the dream that started it all.
Interviewer: Immortal? What genre is Angel’s Kiss?
Lynne: Sorry, but I hate that question. (Hahaha) It really mixes a lot of genres together. It’s a sexy paranormal thriller with a little murder mystery thrown in.
Interviewer: Lynne, you have 3 kids and I’m guessing you work a day job too. How do you find time to write?
Lynne: That is the question isn’t it. Yes, I do have a day job that always interferes with my writing. There is no easy answer. I just make time. Sometimes I get up at four in the morning to write and sometimes I write late at night. It’s difficult and that’s the reason it takes me a little longer than other authors, who work at it full-time, to write a novel. So to all of those who are yelling at me for the sequel to Angel’s Kiss, please be patient.
Interviewer: Do you set goals like so many words a day to help motivate you.
Lynne: I try to, but I have to admit I am the worst procrastinator on the planet!
Interviewer: If your main character Lexie was a real person, how would she perceive you?
Lynne: Oh that’s a tough one. I think she would think I’m a little boring, but we would still be friends and we’d use the same hairdresser! We both have short spikey hair and she would love my guy.
Interviewer: Where can our readers find your novel Angel’s Kiss and you on the web?
Lynne: I can be found at the following sites:

“What genre is Angel’s Kiss?” The nice lady asks.
Nothing makes me squirm more that those 5 words. “Umm, fiction?” I answer.
“No,” She looks at me like I’m an idiot. “I mean is it a paranormal, a thriller, a murder mystery or a fantasy novel?”
“Yes. All the above.”
Wikipedia says that genre “is the term for any category of literature or other forms of art or entertainment, e.g. music, whether written or spoken, audial or visual, based on some set of stylistic criteria. Genres are formed by conventions that change over time as new genres are invented and the use of old ones are discontinued. Often, works fit into multiple genres by way of borrowing and recombining these conventions.”
Sounds simple right? But I’ve never been very good at all or nothing categories. I remember growing up in the late 70’s and people either liked Disco or Rock. It was a big deal back then and I just didn’t understand why I couldn’t like both Donna Summer and AC/DC. So for this article I have been doing a lot of research on some of my favorite authors and every website I check has them under different categories. It’s very confusing even to those of us in the business so I know it’s confusing to everyone. One of my fans said it best when she wrote: “Lynne Stevie has managed to encompass murder, mystery and intrigue with a paranormal bent all the way to the end, that will keep you breathless and wanting more.” So, back to the original question, what genre is Angel’s Kiss?
How does a writer classify their novel? Out of all the articles on Genre that I have reviewed two stand out in my mind. The first one is Rachelle Gardner’s blog http://www.rachellegardner.com/2012/04/identify-your-novels-genre/ and the other is Sarah LaPolla’s blog http://bigglasscases.blogspot.com/search?q=genre. Both ladies are literary agents and both have great advice for authors. Basically, no matter how hard we fight against it we must learn to classify our art for business purposes. How can we sell our novels if we can’t find the right audience? After extensive research I have come to a decision.
Angel’s Kiss is a… (I want to make up my own category, “mystparathrillermance”. Okay, okay, I know I have to decide.)…Adult Paranormal Thriller. As the song goes, “That’s my story and I am sticking with it.” Check out the blogs listed above for more information on Genre and if you’ve already read Angel’s Kiss and have a better label for it, please let me know. If you haven’t read it, grab a copy of this Sexy Paranormal Thriller today at Amazon .

Now for a taste of what you”ll be getting:
“My Qadesh, I mean you no harm.” His voice was compelling, but at least I didn’t want to rub against him like a cat anymore. “I see you have a new friend. Although I am grateful he was there to help you yesterday, I do not appreciate his interference now.”
I sat up, still touching Zeke’s fur, and looked around. The table had been replaced by a big canopied bed. Gauzy curtains surrounded Zeke and me. Zeke’s jowls were pulled back, and he growled menacingly deep in his chest. I put my arms around his big frame.
Then I noticed Ellasar sitting on a thrown-like chair, watching us through the curtains. He was the essence of masculinity, with one leg stretched out, one leg slung over the arm of the chair, and his muscular torso bare. The tattoo around his shoulders seemed darker and more detailed than I remembered, and his dark leather pants were tight in all the right spots. My eye caught the ripple of muscle across his chest and followed a faint line of hair to the loose laces of his pants. My eyes stuck on that small flap of material. It seemed to beg to be peeled apart. My mouth was suddenly dry. I licked my lips and sat up to get a better look.
“I am glad you approve,” he said, motioning down his body as if he were displaying a prize on a game show.
Damn, busted ogling, plus I just noticed I was naked. The combination of shock and embarrassment helped me pry my eyes away. I used Zeke’s body as a shield. Ellasar noticed and waved his hand. I was instantly wearing a white silk gown that hugged my curves.
“That’s better, but I’d prefer something with a little more coverage.”
“This is still my dream too, Qadesh,” he said with a raised eyebrow.
“Gosh, I’m so sorry that my pesky free will has to ruin it for you! And stop calling me that.”
Zeke tensed in my arms, and I noticed that I was naked again. I grabbed the sheet and covered myself with it. It was silk, and—dammit—felt good slipping over my skin, which didn’t help my resolve. Zeke nudged me with his head, and I tried to focus.
“Well, that’s pretty shitty. Why allow me some control, and then just take it away?” I complained.
“Because I CAN.” He stood with silent grace and sauntered to the curtain. Zeke stood, forcing me to come to my knees to keep hold of his neck. Ellasar paced around the bed. I did my best to cover my assets while still holding Zeke.
“Your pet doesn’t like the control I have,” he said thoughtfully. “He is angry that he can do nothing to protect you from me.” Zeke growled in response.
Ellasar ran his hand along the gauzy curtain. “Alexandria, if I’d wanted to hurt you, I would have done so by now. You need not fear me.” He parted the curtain, and Zeke lunged for his hand. Ellasar didn’t flinch, but he stayed on his side of the curtain. Zeke, on the other hand, bounced back from some sort of barrier. He shook his head in confusion.
“I’ll allow you to keep your pet, but he must be taught some manners.” Zeke paced the bed inside the curtains. As soon as my hand lost contact with his thick fur, I felt Ellasar’s influence. His silky voice rubbed against my will, and I had no doubt who’d win.
